Version 1.2 Adopted as the New Release of the Standard

The Technical Advisory Group and Board of Directors of the Institute have voted on and approved the adoption of the draft Version 1.2 as the current release of the MTConnect standard. This Version makes significant strides in the areas of sensors and tooling. The Institute would like to thank everyone who assisted in this important update and look forward to future work efforts.

Technical Advisory Group Met on February 14-15, 2012

The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the Institute held their first meeting of the year on February 14-15, 2012 at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in St. Pete, Florida. The meeting was hosted by General Dynamics - OTS and covered committee progress and discussions on new work efforts to be performed during the year.

Topics discussed included:

- Updates or enhancements to be included in the next version of the standard

- Exhibits and presentations to be considered for 2013

- Modifications considered for the MTConnect Directory.

NOTE: The second TAG meeting of the year is being planned for June 19-20, 2012. It is being hosted by ITAMCO and will be held at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana.

MTConnect: Connecting Manufacturing Conference

The MTConnect Institute would like to thank everyone who attendeed, exhibited or spoke at the first [MC]2 MTConnect: Connecting Manufacturing Conference, held on November 8-10, 2011, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since its introduction to the manufacturing industry, the MTConnect standard has been revolutionizing the way manufacturing equipment, devices and applications "talk" to each other on the shop floor.

Due to the success of this conference and the request of attendees, the Institute has made the decision to have [MC]2 2012 on November 13th to the 15th 2012 in a city TBD. Block your calendars and stay tuned for more details!
